The replacement for the aging Vectra, the Vauxhall Insignia has been unveiled at the 2008 British Motor Show. The Vauxhall Insignia is a hugely important car for the General Motors in the highly-competitive mid-sized family saloon market. While never the most inspiring car, the Vectra was a sales success thanks to its popularity among fleets - with only the BMW 3 Series outselling it in that segment. And with the radically improved Citroen C5 and brilliant Ford Mondeo fighting for sales, the Insignia will face a fight. On first impressions at the British Motor Show, the Insignia looks good and feels well built. And there's a large choice of engines available including a 2.8-litre V6 with four-wheel drive. But the bulk of sales will be among the three, 2-litre diesels on offer. Price will start at just £15,995 for the Insignia when it goes on sale in December.
